About the Author

Daphne Colbert is the oldest of five siblings. Growing up, she loved school. It was in the fifth grade when she discovered she wanted to teach. Since then, she has become an educator and is very passionate about teaching.

Her love for her scholars prompted her to write her first book. While working in the classroom, she realized students dreaded taking tests. However, she always encouraged them to do their best.

Author’s Inspirational Note

Some of the most beautiful things are birth through pain. This book was birthed through prayer. One morning while in intercessory prayer my spiritual mother, Prophetess Gwendolyn Richardson, pressed us to cry out in prayer for the areas we are most passionate about.

I labored for our young people. I labored for mothers and for those who had lost hope. In the mist of praying for the needs of others God showed me this book. I have always desired a child. However, I was told that it would be nearly impossible for me to get pregnant. Funny thing is God has a way of fulfilling our desires. I am a mother to many.

God has allowed me to touch the lives of many young people as an educator and mentor. So, I want to encourage you to not lose hope in your dreams. Press through the hard place, it will produce promise. What once seemed barren will produce fruit in due season.

Isaiah 54:1-6 MSG

“Sing, barren woman, who has never had a baby. Fill the air with song, you who’ve never experienced childbirth! You’re ending up with far more children than all those childbearing women.”

God says so! “Clear lots of ground for your tents! Make your tents large. Spread out! Think big! Use plenty of rope, drive the tent pegs deep. You’re going to need lots of elbow room for your growing family.

You’re going to take over whole nations; you’re going to resettle abandoned cities. Don’t be afraid—you’re not going to be embarrassed. Don’t hold back—you’re not going to come up short. You’ll forget all about the humiliations of your youth, and the indignities of being a widow will fade from memory.

For your Maker is your bridegroom, his name, God-of-the-Angel-Armies! Your Redeemer is The Holy of Israel, known as God of the whole earth. You were like an abandoned wife, devastated with grief, and God welcomed you back, Like a woman married young and then left,” says your God.”
